Open day at Marelli Motori Asia
Marelli Motori Asia (MMA), a subsidiary of Marelli Motori SpA, Italy, recently welcomed visitors, including many customers from the Asia Pacific region, to their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Shah Alam, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The guests were shown around the ground-breaking factory which builds generators for the power generation, marine and oil & gas sectors.
The fact-finding visit included viewing the production bays, including assembly and testing.
Marelli Chief Commercial Officer Paolo Bedin welcomed the guests and presented the company’s many capabilities as well a tour of its newly enhanced production facilities.

Important topics covered during the event included the upgrade to the company’s service capabilities in the region.
“Supplying an overall service support is a crucial asset for a company with a global customer base like Marelli Motori” commented Marco Cavallero, Managing Director MMA “Complex and technically demanding functions, such as the overhaul and test of large electrical machines are performed in-house but maintenance and diagnostics can be performed anywhere in the world thanks to our skilled Marelli Motori engineers, located worldwide”.
During two technical workshops and a comprehensive factory tour, the guests witnessed first-hand how MMA had widened its production capacity to include 560 frame alternators (pictured below).
